The 7G’s of Crossroads Youth Ministry

God- 1 Timothy 1:17- “Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.” Soli Deo Gloria- To God Alone Be the Glory- We exist, first and foremost, to glorify God. Therefore all that we do will be for this purpose. We will not do something that exalts a person or a program. This is all for the Almighty, Eternal, Exalted Three in One! God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit!

Gospel- Ephesians 2:8-9- “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.” This good news that sinful people, dead in trespasses and sins can and will be saved by the grace of God will always be at the center of all that we are and all that we do. Jesus, the cross, propitiation, substitutionary atonement, salvation, grace, faith alone in Christ alone. These are all terms that we will talk about over and over again because we can never get too much of the gospel.

Gladness- Psalm 34:1- “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” The joy of the Lord is our strength! We want joy and gladness to characterize this youth ministry as a whole and individual lives in particular. We don’t want people wearing freakish happy faces but if your and my faith in Christ is real then our joy and gladness will be real. This will come out in our demeanor and in our singing. Make no mistake, life can be very hard, but not so hard that the joy of the Lord isn’t greater still!!!!

Gathering- Hebrews 10:23-25- “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together…” Acts 2:42- “They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” We gather frequently because we believe that our gathering matters to God and matters to one another.

Giving- Ephesians 2:10- “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” Jesus has prepared good works, good deeds, acts of righteousness, compassion for us to perform. Redeem the time, work hard, our time here on earth to do good unto all men is a very short time but if used wisely it can reap rewards and fruit for eternity!

Greeting- 1 Corinthians 16:19-21- “The churches of Asia greet you. Aquilla and Prisca greet you heartily in the Lord, with the church that is in their house. All the brethren greet you. Greet one another with a holy kiss.” Obviously we’re not advocating that we go back to a common first century greeting. We will strive to truly love each other and it should show in our interactions with one another, even our greetings. Eagerly anticipate and then be excited to be together! When someone new comes to visit or begins to attend, they have overcome many obstacles just to get here, we strive to be a group that joyfully welcomes them in.

Guiding- 1 Peter 5:2- “Shepherd the flock of God among you!” We are here for you. We want to help and encourage you. We want to guide you. We want to shepherd you. We want to pray for you.
